If it weren’t for him, the whole paper would sink. What’s more, for the past few weeks he’s had to put up with the Intern that Magnate, the big boss, stuck him with. He’s useless! And a lady’s man, too, with that fake air of being a real young man.
Our story begins on a day of anger. To get rid of this new sandbox Don Juan, Massicot sends him as a correspondent to some godforsaken village where the damn Intern will soon go from out of sight to out of mind. Saint-Paulin sur Morbier. In Coulommiers county, half-way between Faisselle and Gaperon, co-county seats. Village of 332 inhabitants. The Intern is supposed to send the paper a regular chronicle. And since nothing has ever happened in Saint-Paulin, the Intern will fall definitively out of mind – or so Massicot believes.
