Robert Barbault

• Robert Barbault was one of the world’s most renowned specialists in biodiversity. He died in December, 2013, at the age of 70, right after finishing the manuscript of this book. A professor at Paris VI University, he ran the ecology and biodiversity department of the Natural History Museum. He also devoted a large part of his time to making his ideas accessible to the general public, most notably with Un éléphant dans un jeu de quilles (A Bull in a China Shop).
