Daniel Spoerri

• Daniel Spoerri, a Swiss artist with Rumanian roots (his real name is Daniel Isaak Feinstein), was born in March 1930. After a childhood marked by his father’s arrest and subsequent death in deportation, his own exile in Switzerland, his change of both name and nationality, Daniel Spoerri has been a principal dancer in the Bern Opera House company, a director, poet, publisher and visual artist. He lives in Vienna, Austria, and runs a museum in Lower Austria as well as an artists’ garden in Tuscany.
