Nicolas Tournadre
  • A specialist in Tibetan languages, Nicolas Tournadre is a professor, as well as a researcher at France’s CNRS (National Scientific Research Center). As a rare linguist who does fieldwork, he has been crisscrossing the world for 30 years, gathering stories, legends and proverbs. These travels have also allowed him to develop and refine his perception of and sensitivity to the natural world.

The preface is by Matthieu Ricard, who became a Buddhist monk after having done graduate work in science, and is now famous for his work in favor of nature and animals.
