Pierre Bernac
  • Pierre Bernac was born in Paris in 1899. From age 18, he had several different voice teachers. In 1934, he and the composer Francis Poulenc – who was a pianist as well – decided to form a duo in order to interpret music for voice and piano with the same striving for unified perfection as chamber music ensembles aim for. Pierre Bernac later decided to end his career as a singer and dedicate himself entirely to teaching.
