Conte de cinéma
Jean Lods
Colin, a brilliant film restorer, spends his days – and nights – offering classic films by Hawks, Dreyer, Renoir and others a new lease on life. But the grants his institution runs on are drying up, and David, his new boss, assigns him to so-called 'commercial' productions. Let alone that Judith, his mistress, has been giving him the cold shoulder lately. Colin has gnawing at the bit, until he comes to an agreement with his boss, who turns out to be easier to deal with than he seemed: they’ll polish up films from bygone days at night… Until one night, while he’s working on A Day in the Country, Colin suddenly gets sucked into the film alongside Henriette, with whom he falls madly in love.
While he tries to charm her, transforming the plot of Renoir’s film, the situation goes from bad to worse at work. A man named Max has joined forces with his mistress to create the Planet of Virtual Reality to possess a monopoly on both yesterday’s films… and tomorrow’s! Then a Resistance movement begins to get organized, to try to save the world of movies.
